Senior IT Business Analyst (f/m/d)

JTL is one of the leading providers of e-commerce software in the German-speaking region – with around 450 employees across the group and more than 50,000 customers from a wide range of industries. We develop scalable, flexible solutions for the online retail of the future – from ERP systems to shop and marketplace integrations.
You will become part of our IT team and form the bridge between business and engineering. We translate what the business units need into things our IT team can actually build – and follow up when something doesn’t add up technically. Your responsibilities

This role belongs to IT – not to a business unit. You bring genuine IT engineering expertise into the dialogue with the business: a solid understanding of how systems work, how architectures and data flows are structured, and what technical consequences a requirement actually has.
It is precisely this foundation that defines the role. It enables you to critically question both requests from the business units and proposed solutions from the IT team – and to assess feasibility yourself instead of passing every question on to development.
Delivery responsibility and SLA ownership lie with the IT Manager / IT Lead. Your task is to ensure that the right things are built along the way – professionally sound and technically well thought out.

• You gather requirements from the business units, question them technically and turn them into clear specifications, epics and acceptance criteria with real technical depth
• You assess feasibility and technical impact yourself – without having to involve development for every question
• You structure and prioritise the business backlog and bring requirements into a clear, testable and deliverable state
• You drive the rollout of what has been delivered: you identify change impacts early, create easy-to-understand rollout documentation and gather feedback to fine-tune
• You prepare business cases and comparisons of options that back up decisions with business value, technical effort and risk

What you bring

• You have a background in IT engineering, software development or a technical systems environment – and have worked closely with business units
• You understand APIs, data flows, system architecture and integration patterns well enough to evaluate proposed technical solutions independently
• You are familiar with Microsoft 365 in a hybrid environment (cloud + on-premise) – including administration and configuration, not just as a user
• You bring proven hands-on experience in requirements engineering: epics, user stories and acceptance criteria
• You manage stakeholders with confidence, even without disciplinary authority, and put decisions into context with data and metrics
• You have a basic understanding of IT security and compliance
• You speak and write German and English at a business-fluent level

Nice to have

• SQL or data queries for independent analyses
• Experience in evaluating or selecting SaaS tools and IT solutions
• Confident use of AI tools for data-driven decision support
• Experience with agile ways of working (Scrum, Kanban)
• Knowledge of scripting or automation (e.g. Power Automate, Python)
